Video Game Ratings

As much as I hate politicians and their arrogance, video game ratings are there for a reason: to inform parents and players of content in the product. Yes, I agree that ESRB needs to lighten up a bit, but games are not for children anymore; just play Fable or Call of Duty.

At the same time, parents need to take care of their kids; it's not my responsibility to design a game everyone can play. If I want to develop a violent video game, I have the full rights to do so. No one can say otherwise.

This was a post I recently made on YouTube.
So, what do you guys think? Do you think video game ratings are useful or not?
